Fish are not easy pets.
I currently have two neon tetra, a betta fish, a pleco, a pladdy, a?dalmatian?Molly, and an African dwarf frog in my ten gallon aquarium. Which, by the way, is horrendously overstocked and (in the tetras? case) just wrong.
First, I really wish they?d told me at the store that plecos grew to be two feet long and have an ecological footprint the size of Paris Hiltons?. Searching for an affordable 55 gallon tank is like trying to find a sustainable relationship in the craigslist casual encounters section. I also wish they?d put a disclaimer on the ?Bettas, $5? sign; starting up a humane, nice aquarium for a betta with all the gadgets and gizmos will run you about $150-$200.
My betta fish is either getting old or getting sick. Since it?s impossible to tell, I?ve been doing one-hundred percent water changes daily, carefully adding water?conditioner and?aquarium salt and antibiotics, and?vacuuming?the rocks daily, and, by the way, there are such things as underwater?vacuums.
The African?Dwarf?frog is blind. To feed him, I have to soak fish flakes in water and?strategically?pour the cup of water and flakes from above.
My pleco will only eat?cucumbers.
