UK 'will pay Brussels more' even if Cameron wins deal | The Times

David Cameron is resigned to paying more into Brussels?s coffers even as a deal on freezing overall spending in the European Union appeared tantalisingly within reach.

The European Council talked yesterday of preparing a ?landing zone? in which all 27 EU leaders could reach a budget deal. Its current parameters would allow Mr Cameron to claim victory, with EU spending frozen and possibly cut over the coming seven years. However, all sides face a war of nerves when they arrive in Brussels tomorrow for talks expected to last one, and possibly two, nights.
